This first generation Honda Insight was never delivered in the Netherlands. When you think of a Japanese hybrid, you may think of the Toyota Prius, but the special Honda Insight really appeared on the scene earlier. Seen from the front, the Insight fits well into the Honda range of the late nineties, with headlights reminiscent of the Civic of the time. From the A-pillar onwards, however, the Insight is completely unique. The car is a three-door hatchback with a Kamm-tail, where the flat rear window at the rear is abruptly cut off. The rear window is thus effectively divided into two parts: a sloping part and an upright part between the rear lights. A rear window split in this way was later also found on the, yes, second generation Toyota Prius.
